Toronto has one in place, Guelph last week implemented a policy and London is working on it. St. Thomas, however, is monitoring other jurisdictions as they adopt COVID-19 vaccination policies for city staff and members of council.
St. Thomas city manager Wendell Graves advises they are looking at what best practices to adopt.
The City of Toronto will require all employees to have both COVID-19 vaccine shots by Oct. 30, while Guelph is giving employees until Oct. 15 to show proof of vaccination status.
Graves expects the city will have a framework ready to implement later this fall.
As for visitors to city hall, Graves advised, “We still follow public health guidelines and policies and so masking is required coming into our buildings.”
