A 25-year-old St. Thomas man has been charged with assault with a weapon following a gravel-throwing incident at a Justin Trudeau rally Labour Day in London.
As Trudeau boarded his campaign bus that evening, he was pelted with gravel.
Investigation by London Police led to the arrest of Shane Marshall who, at the time, was People’s Party of Canada riding association president in Elgin-Middlesex-London. He has since been removed from that post.
Marshall made a court appearance in London today (Sept. 11) and is scheduled to appear again Oct. 6.
Chelsea Hillier is the PPC candidate in Elgin-Middlesex-London and myFM reached out to her via phone and email for comment but has not heard back.
