As we prepare to cast our votes in the Federal Election later this month, myFM is giving you a look at the local candidates running for Elgin-Middlesex-London.
Katelyn Cody represents the New Democratic Party.
Cody is a recent graduate of the University of Ottawa, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts with a minor in Indigenous Studies.
Although not directly from the riding, the Strathroy native says she grew up with the same small town mentality.
The first time candidate was initially approached by the NDP to run in 2019, but timing wasn’t on her side.
As far as her opinion on the election being called in a pandemic year, Cody notes the respect she has for her party leader in his efforts to keep it from happening.
And as she does move forward, Cody hopes to bring some change to the riding with her personal platform.
While speaking with constituents, Cody says she has heard a lot of concerns about the mental health of residents.
By putting her trust in the NDP, Cody hopes to help make decisions that are in the best interest of all Canadians.
And as far as why you should put your vote towards Katelyn Cody and the NDP, she had this to say.
