The YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin’s new government-funded skills training and upgrading program is an opportunity to build the skills in math, reading and writing needed to succeed in apprenticeships in construction and manufacturing.
Instructor Nicole McNeil-Nuckowski says the month long program is being delivered free of charge.
Not only is it completely covered, the program offers skill building for a number of different occupations.
McNeil-Nuckowski explains at the end of the one-month program you will then be referred to a community partner.
The program runs Monday through Thursday from 1-4 p.m. at the YWCA in St. Thomas.
It is set to begin October 4th, with a registration deadline of September 23rd.
