Heavy rain over the past couple of days has taken a toll on several city parks bordering Kettle Creek.
Waterworks Park, Lion’s Dog Park and V.A. Barrie Park are all closed today (Thursday) due to flooding, advises Adrienne Jefferson, the city’s supervisor of parks and forestry.
She anticipates considerable cleanup will be necessary in the parking areas at each facility.
Meantime, Jefferson says a decision was to be made today on several sports fields, including 1Password Park, Athletic Park and Cowan Park. All three were closed yesterday because of the rainfall warning. The artificial turf field was expected to re-open today for user groups.
