The province this morning is reporting 466 new COVID-19 cases, with no deaths. A total of 315 individuals are hospitalized with 180 of those in ICU.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting three new cases, with seven resolved. There are no new cases in St. Thomas or Elgin county.
The death toll remains at 86 since the pandemic began.
There are 28 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with nine in Woodstock, three in Ingersoll, two in St. Thomas, Aylmer, Bayham, Southwold, Dutton-Dunwich and East Zorra-Tavistock and single cases in Central Elgin, West Elgin, Blandford-Blenheim and Norwich.
A total of 1,155 cases have been variants of concern with 330 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
There are no active institutional cases.
There are four hospitalizations at this time, with one in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.9 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Nineteen of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with four of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,151.
A total of 145,825 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 68.5 per cent.
There are 13.2 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 33.3 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 5.1 cases per 100,000 population and 26.7 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 60 tests Sunday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 47 on Friday.
