The Stars’ second trip to Sarnia in under a week proved less fruitful than their first visit. The Legionnaires doubled up St. Thomas 6-3 Thursday evening after the Stars posted a 5-3 win Saturday.
St. Thomas briefly held a 3-2 lead in the second frame, however four straight goals, including an empty-netter with 37 seconds remaining in the game sank the Stars, who failed to capitalize on three power-play opportunities.
Tristen Roberts, Trent Ballentyne and Ben MacRobbie found the net for St. Thomas. The latter is the club’s points leader with a goal and four assists in three games.
Owen Willmore was in net and was tagged for his second loss of the season.
St. Thomas is back in action Friday when they host Chatham in a 7:30 p.m. start at the Joe Thornton Community Centre.
