The province this morning is reporting 417 new COVID-19 cases, with three deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 12 new cases with 23 resolved.
There was one new death reported, a St. Thomas man in his 60s. The death toll is now 88 since the pandemic began.
There are three new cases in Aylmer.
There are 80 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 13 in Aylmer, 11 in Tillsonburg, 10 in Norwich, nine in Bayham, St. Thomas and Woodstock, four in SW Oxford and Ingersoll, three in East Zorra-Tavistock, two in Malahide, Dutton-Dunwich and West Elgin and a single case in Blandford-Blenheim and Zorra.
A total of 1,314 cases have been variants of concern with 490 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
Two residents and two staff members at Elgin Manor in Southwold have tested positive.
There are four hospitalizations at this time, with one in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Fifty-two of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 17 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,291.
A total of 149,162 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 70.1 per cent.
There are 37.8 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 29.2 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 23.1 cases per 100,000 population and 173.5 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 167 tests Tuesday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 32 on Tuesday.
