The province this morning is reporting 373 new COVID-19 cases, with two deaths.
Meantime, Southwestern Public Health is reporting 30 new cases since Friday with 34 resolved.
The death toll remains at 89 since the pandemic began.
There are four new cases in St. Thomas and one in Aylmer.
There are 88 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 15 in Tillsonburg, 14 in Norwich, 12 in St. Thomas, 11 in Bayham, 10 in Aylmer, eight in Woodstock, six in SW Oxford, five in Ingersoll, two in Malahide, West Elgin and Zorra and a single case in East Zorra-Tavistock.
A total of 1,369 cases have been variants of concern with 541 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
One staff member at Elgin Manor in Southwold has tested positive.
There are five hospitalizations at this time, with one in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Fifty-eight of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 20 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,336.
A total of 150,239 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 70.6 per cent.
There are 43.5 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 28.0 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 30.8 cases per 100,000 population and 133.5 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 76 tests Saturday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 32 last Tuesday.
