The province this morning is reporting 328 new COVID-19 cases, with four deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting eight new cases with 18 resolved.
There was one new death reported, a female Elgin resident in her 80s. The toll is now 90 since the pandemic began.
There are two new cases in West Elgin and one in Bayham.
There are 76 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 15 in Norwich, 12 in Tillsonburg, 10 in St. Thomas, nine in Bayham, eight in Aylmer, six in SW Oxford, four in Ingersoll and Woodstock, three in West Elgin, two in Malahide and Zorra and a single case in East Zorra-Tavistock.
A total of 1,374 cases have been variants of concern with 546 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
There are no institutional cases reported.
There are three hospitalizations at this time, with one in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Forty-nine of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 18 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,354.
A total of 150,239 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 70.6 per cent.
There are 35.9 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 20.5 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 25.7 cases per 100,000 population and 106.8 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 62 tests Sunday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 32 last Tuesday.
