The province this morning is reporting 413 new COVID-19 cases, with four deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 17 new cases with 18 resolved.
The death toll remains at 90 since the pandemic began.
There are 79 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 15 in Tillsonburg, 13 in Norwich, 10 in Aylmer, nine in West Elgin and Woodstock, seven in St. Thomas, five in Bayham and Ingersoll, three in SW Oxford and one in Malahide, East Zorra-Tavistock and Zorra.
A total of 1,400 cases have been variants of concern with 572 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
There are no institutional cases reported.
There are four hospitalizations at this time, with two in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.9 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Fifty-eight of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 21 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,382.
A total of 150,239 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 70.6 per cent.
There are 37.4 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 18.7 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 18.0 cases per 100,000 population and 133.5 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 120 tests Tuesday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 42 on Monday.
