The St. Thomas Police are alerting the community that there is no threat to public safety following a viral post to social media of an alleged school shooting.
Police report that they responded to multiple calls of concern regarding threats of a school shooting that had circulated via the social media app Snapchat.
Through investigation it was determined that the video had made its way to St. Thomas all the way from an incident stemming from Missouri, U.S.A., where the post threatens a school shooting is going to occur at “Central High School”.
Police report that the origin of the post has been confirmed and there is no threat to public safety locally.
