The province this morning is reporting 326 new COVID-19 cases, with no new deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 35 new cases since Friday with 30 resolved.
The death toll remains at 90 since the pandemic began.
There are six new cases in Aylmer, five in St. Thomas and one each in Bayham, Central Elgin, West Elgin and Malahide.
There are 87 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 19 in Woodstock, 13 in Aylmer, nine in Ingersoll, Norwich and Tillsonburg, seven in St. Thomas, six in West Elgin, five in SW Oxford, three in Bayham and East Zorra-Tavistock, two in Blandford-Blenheim and one each in Central Elgin and Malahide.
A total of 1,439 cases have been variants of concern with 610 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
There are no institutional cases reported.
There are five hospitalizations at this time, with two in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.8 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Sixty-five of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 29 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,427.
A total of 150,288 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 70.6 per cent.
There are 41.1 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 25.0 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 18.0 cases per 100,000 population and 173.5 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 90 tests Friday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 22 on Wednesday.
