The province this morning is reporting 419 new COVID-19 cases, with no deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting nine new cases with 18 resolved.
The death toll remains at 91 since the pandemic began.
There are three new cases in Aylmer and one in Bayham.
There are 79 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 21 in Aylmer, 20 in Woodstock, six in Bayham and Ingersoll, five in St. Thomas and Norwich, four in Tillsonburg, three in Central Elgin and SW Oxford, two in East Zorra-Tavistock and Zorra and one each in Malahide and Blandford-Blenheim.
A total of 1,478 cases have been variants of concern with 649 confirmed cases of the Delta variant.
There are no institutional cases reported.
There are six hospitalizations at this time, with three in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.9 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Fifty-four of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 26 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,483.
A total of 151,153 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 71.0 per cent.
There are 37.4 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 25.0 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 12.9 cases per 100,000 population and 280.3 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 107 tests Wednesday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 13 on Wednesday.
