The province this morning is reporting 793 new COVID-19 cases, with four deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 38 new cases with 25 resolved.
The death toll is 95 since the pandemic began.
There are 13 new cases in Aylmer, seven in Bayham, five in St. Thomas and one in Southwold.
There are 157 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 38 in Aylmer, 32 in Woodstock, 27 in St. Thomas, 24 in Bayham, 23 in Tillsonburg, three in Southwold and SW Oxford, two in Malahide and one each in West Elgin, Blandford-Blenheim, Ingersoll, Norwich and Zorra.
As of today, more than 99 per cent of all cases are of the Delta variant.
There are seven resident cases and one staff case at Aylmer Retirement Residence.
There are 16 hospitalizations at this time, with seven in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.6 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One hundred and eleven of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 46 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,842.
A total of 153,785 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 72.2 per cent.
There are 74.2 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 22.7 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 69.4 cases per 100,000 population and 507.2 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 191 tests Tuesday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 47 Wednesday.
