With 8 cases of COVID-19 now active in the school community, the Thames Valley District School Board has announced the temporarily closure of Port Burwell Public School.
The board administration has determined that school operations and instruction poses a challenge as the current number of cases impact several classes.
Beginning today, students at Port Burwell Public School will temporarily transition from in-person to virtual learning, with the school set to reopen on Monday, November 29th.
Classroom teachers are expected to contact families with information for virtual learning. Families requiring technology to support students to access virtual learning are asked to contact the school office.
During their daily report, the TVDSB also announced new cases at Elgin Court Public School and Pierre Elliot Trudeau.
According to the most recent update from both boards, there are 27 active cases of COVID-19 in schools across St. Thomas and Elgin.
