The province this morning is reporting 613 new COVID-19 cases, with six deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 31 new cases, with 25 resolved.
There was another death, an Elgin man in his 60s. The death toll is 97 since the pandemic began.
There are nine new cases in Bayham and five in Aylmer.
There are 167 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 36 in Woodstock, 34 in Aylmer, 27 in Tillsonburg, 24 in St. Thomas, 22 in Bayham, five in Norwich, four in Blandford-Blenheim and SW Oxford, two in Southwold, West Elgin, Ingersoll and Zorra and one each in Central Elgin, Malahide and East Zorra-Tavistock.
As of today, more than 99 per cent of all cases are of the Delta variant.
There are eight resident cases and one staff case at Aylmer Retirement Residence in Aylmer and one staff case at Terrace Lodge in Malahide.
There are 13 hospitalizations at this time, with four in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One hundred and eight of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 45 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 4,932.
A total of 154,114 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 72.4 per cent.
There are 79.0 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 24.8 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 61.7 cases per 100,000 population and 453.8 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 112 tests Sunday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 23 Friday.
