Following closure of Port Burwell Public School on November 19, the Thames Valley District School Board has announced it will reopen next week, but not as early as intended.
In the original announcement, the board anticipated the closure to last until this coming Monday, with the new reopening date set for Thursday, December 2nd.
The school has been closed to in-person learning in response to an outbreak of cases reported by Southwestern Public Health.
This announcement comes after the TVDSB advised of another outbreak at a local school last night, this time at Straffordville Public School.
According to the most recent update from both local school boards, there are 23 active cases of COVID-19 in schools across St. Thomas and Elgin.
