While the Southwestern Public Health region continues to struggle to mitigate the rise in COVID-19 cases, the Thames Valley District School Board announced additional school related cases over the weekend.
The TVDSB reported 2 new cases, including 1 at Pierre Elliott Trudeau and the other at Locke’s Public School. This comes after the board announced the delayed reopening of Port Burwell Public School following the temporary closure as a result of COVID-19 cases and the announcement of an outbreak at Straffordville Public School on Friday.
According to the most recent update from the board, there are 25 active cases of COVID-19 in schools across St. Thomas and Elgin, with 8 at Port Burwell Public School, 6 at Pierre Elliott Trudeau, 3 at Straffordville, 2 each at Elgin Court, John Wise and Summers’ Corners and a single case each at and East Elgin Secondary School and Locke’s Public School.
At this time, the London District Catholic School Board is reporting no active COVID-19 cases at schools across St. Thomas/Elgin.
