The province this morning is reporting 780 new COVID-19 cases, with five deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 13 new cases, with 46 resolved.
The death toll is 98 since the pandemic began.
There are five new cases in St. Thomas, two in Malahide and one each in Aylmer and Bayham.
There are 170 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 46 in St. Thomas, 28 in Woodstock, 26 in Tillsonburg, 21 in Aylmer, 10 in Bayham, seven in Norwich and Ingersoll, six in East Zorra-Tavistock and Zorra, five in Blandford-Blenheim, three in SW Oxford, two in Malahide and Central Elgin and one in West Elgin.
As of today, more than 99 per cent of all cases are of the Delta variant.
There are eight resident cases and two staff cases at Aylmer Retirement Residence in Aylmer and one resident and three staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas.
There are 12 hospitalizations at this time, with three in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.9 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One hundred and ten of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 40 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 5,114.
A total of 155,108 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 72.8 per cent.
There are 80.4 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 29.9 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 118.2 cases per 100,000 population and 280.3 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 144 tests Sunday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 38 Monday.
