City council found little fat to trim in finance director Dan Sheridan’s draft budget for 2022 and members wrapped up deliberations in one session Monday night.
The proposed municipal tax levy is just shy of $62 million, up from $59.6 million this year.
With only minor adjustments to several budget items, ratepayers are looking at a 2.35 per cent increase in the property tax levy next year.
Last year council and city staff whittled down the municipal property tax levy from a proposed 2.48 per cent increase to 1.5 per cent.
A second budget meeting scheduled for Tuesday was scrapped, and the final budget will come before council for approval in January.
