myFM is one of three finalists in the Standing Ovation Merit Award at this year’s St. Thomas and District Chamber of Commerce Impact Awards.
The station is nominated in recognition of its extraordinary contribution to the local business community over the past three years, explains chamber CEO Paul Jenkins.
The two other finalists are Barb Muma, Muma Manufacturing and Sam Aboumourad, St. Thomas Roadhouse. The winners will be announced Feb. 24 at St. Anne’s Centre.
The St. Thomas business community is resilient and caring, stresses Jenkins.
And outstanding contributors are recognized through the chamber’s Impact Awards. Jenkins points to myFM’s efforts during the pandemic to assist local businesses.
As the pandemic approaches the two-year mark, 94.1 myFM has adopted a variety of creative approaches to help support local businesses weather the economic fallout.
Jenkins stresses we’re all in this together and no matter who wins in the various categories, it’s a victory for the business community as a whole.
myFM’s general manager Samantha Wakefield is also a finalist in the Inspirational Women category.
The award recognizes a woman or a female-led enterprise who has taken on and exceeded at extraordinary challenges in their field.
The recipient is a true trailblazer in our community, providing inspiration and mentorship so that others may more easily follow in her path.
