Three goals in a 12-minute span of the second period proved too much Sunday afternoon in Chatham as the St. Thomas Stars dropped a 3-0 decision to the Maroons.
It was the third game in four days for the Stars who managed a win Friday over LaSalle in that stretch.
For the Maroons, meantime, it was their second game in less than 24 hours which didn’t curb their ability to put the puck in the net.
Cameron Symons, Isaac Legood and David Brown took care of business for Chatham, which suffered a 3-2 shootout loss Saturday night in Strathroy.
Tyler Roberts was in net for St. Thomas, the second straight start for the 20-year-old Ajax native who faced 31 shots.
The two teams have now split their four games this season.
The win halts a two-game mini losing streak for the Maroons.
The result leaves St. Thomas mired in eighth place in the GOJHL Western Conference, a point behind Strathroy.
The Stars are off now until Friday when they host the league-leading London Nationals in a 7:30 p.m. start at the Joe Thornton Community Centre.
