The province this morning is reporting 2,421 new COVID-19 cases, with nine deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 46 new cases, with 66 resolved.
The death toll is 108 since the pandemic began.
There are 10 new cases in St. Thomas, three in Aylmer, two in Bayham and one in Malahide.
There are 208 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 60 in St. Thomas, 38 in Woodstock, 18 in Aylmer, 16 in Tillsonburg, 15 in Ingersoll, 14 in Norwich, nine in SW Oxford, eight in Dutton/Dunwich, seven in Central Elgin, four in Bayham, Malahide and Zorra, three in Southwold, East Zorra-Tavistock and Blandford-Blenheim and two in West Elgin.
As of today, more than 99 per cent of all cases are of the Delta variant.
There are 11 resident cases, eight staff cases and one death at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas.
There are 11 hospitalizations at this time, with seven in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.2 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One hundred and forty-five of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 49 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 5,484.
A total of 156,090 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 73.3 per cent.
There are 98.3 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 100.7 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 154.2 cases per 100,000 population and 240.3 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
The assessment centre at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital undertook 182 tests Monday. The West Elgin Community Health Centre did 62 Monday.
