After putting the brakes on the initiative last year due to gathering restrictions that were in place at the time, the city of St. Thomas is back with free New Year’s Eve transit.
City council approved the move at a recent meeting, though New Year’s Eve transit will look different than years past.
The city will be supplying residents with access to their On Demand Transit Service, meaning trips must be pre-booked for the evening.
On Demand transit will then pick you up and drop you off at your requested bus stop locations.
The service will operate from 5:45 p.m. on December 31st to 3:15 a.m. on January 1st.
The city also approved the lifting of overnight parking restrictions for New Year’s Day.
