With 2021 coming to a close, myFM is taking a look back at the past 365 days with our Year in Review features.
Chair of the Thames Valley District School Board Lori-Ann Pizzolato said that for them, 2021 was overall an incredible year in public education, and she is proud of everything they accomplished.
This includes accomplishments within their rural task force, who were a voice at the table for rural communities and what they need in their education, dealing with overcrowding in London, and balancing enrollment in Woodstock among many others.
Going into the new year, Pizzolato says a goal is to address the equity issues in the school board.
They are also introducing their first ever Indigenous action plan and equity action plan.
Overall Pizzolato says they are proud of their staff and students for tackling this past year, and hope that things continue to improve.
