All three Elgin county long-term care homes are now in COVID-19 outbreak status.
Southwestern Public Health announced this Sunday after confirming one resident and one staff member at Terrace Lodge in Malahide have tested positive.
On Friday, the health unit advised four residents and one staff member at Elgin Manor and one staffer at Bobier Villa had tested positive. An additional member of staff at the home in Dutton is now confirmed as positive.
Residents in all three facilities are being monitored by health unit staff and the county is working with Southwestern Public Health on outbreak management and to identify close contacts of the residents and staff members.
Any resident or employee who shows any evidence of a health change is immediately screened for COVID-19, according to the health unit.
