The province this morning is reporting 13,578 new COVID-19 cases.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 1,337 new cases since Dec. 24, with 526 resolved.
There were two deaths, a female Oxford resident in her 40s and a female St. Thomas resident in her 50s.
The death toll is 113 since the pandemic began.
There are 357 new cases in St. Thomas, 70 in Central Elgin, 46 in Aylmer, 37 in Dutton/Dunwich, 22 in West Elgin, 16 in Bayham, seven in Malahide and four in Southwold.
There are 1,287 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 379 in Woodstock, 344 in St. Thomas, 107 in Ingersoll, 75 in Tillsonburg, 68 in Central Elgin, 53 in Aylmer, 47 in Zorra, 43 in East Zorra-Tavistock, 39 in Blandford-Blenheim, 34 in Dutton/Dunwich, 31 in Norwich, 22 in West Elgin, 18 in SW Oxford, 16 in Bayham, seven in Malahide and four in Southwold.
There are three staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, four resident and six staff cases at Valleyview, three resident and one staff case at Elgin Manor, one resident and two staff at Extendicare in Port Stanley and two staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 12 hospitalizations at this time, with seven in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Nine hundred and forty-one of the cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 283 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 6,157.
A total of 157,128 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 73.8 per cent.
There are 608.5 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 665.2 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 884.1 cases per 100,000 population and 707.4 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
