The province this morning is reporting 11,582 new COVID-19 cases with 13 deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 106 new cases with 73 resolved.
There were two more deaths, a St. Thomas woman in her 50s and an Oxford man in his 80s.
The death toll is 116 since the pandemic began.
The percent positivity rate in the region has hit 6.8%, the highest since the start of the pandemic.
There are 23 new cases in St. Thomas, five in Central Elgin, three in Dutton/Dunwich and West Elgin and one in Malahide, Bayham and Aylmer.
There are 1,401 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 427 in Woodstock, 383 in St. Thomas, 110 in Ingersoll, 74 in Central Elgin and Tillsonburg, 48 in East Zorra-Tavistock, 47 in Aylmer and Blandford-Blenheim, 42 in Zorra, 33 in Dutton/Dunwich, 32 in Norwich, 27 in West Elgin, 23 in SW Oxford, 16 in Bayham, 11 in Malahide and seven in Southwold.
There are two resident cases and three staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, nine resident and 13 staff cases at Valleyview, four resident and one staff case at Elgin Manor, two residents and three staff at Extendicare in Port Stanley and four staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 18 hospitalizations at this time, with five in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.8 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One thousand and two cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 304 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 6,311.
A total of 157,260 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 73.9 per cent.
There are 652.0 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 804.3 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 984.3 cases per 100,000 population and 627.3 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
