The province this morning is reporting 13,339 new COVID-19 cases with 20 deaths.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting 137 new cases with 102 resolved.
There was one new death, an Elgin woman in her 80s.
The death toll is 117 since the pandemic began.
The percent positivity rate in the region has hit 6.8%, the highest since the start of the pandemic.
There are 34 new cases in St. Thomas, three in Central Elgin and West Elgin, two in Bayham and Dutton/Dunwich and one in Aylmer.
There are 1,435 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 454 in Woodstock, 390 in St. Thomas, 106 in Ingersoll, 74 in Central Elgin, 73 in Tillsonburg, 51 in Zorra, 48 in East Zorra-Tavistock, 44 in Aylmer, 43 in Blandford-Blenheim, 35 in Dutton/Dunwich, 32 in Norwich, 30 in West Elgin, 23 in SW Oxford, 16 in Bayham, nine in Malahide and seven in Southwold.
There are four resident cases and four staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, 10 resident and 17 staff cases at Valleyview, four resident and one staff case at Elgin Manor, two residents and four staff at Extendicare in Port Stanley and four staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 12 hospitalizations at this time, with four in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 35.3 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
One thousand and eleven cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 297 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 6,413.
A total of 157,260 residents in the region have been fully immunized or 73.9 per cent.
There are 678.5 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 814.5 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 1,002.3 cases per 100,000 population and 587.3 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
