The province this morning is reporting at least 9,783 new COVID-19 cases with 46 deaths.
A total of 3,448 individuals across the province are hospitalized with 505 in ICU with COVID-related critical illness, of those 265 are on a ventilator.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting at least 106 new cases with 170 resolved.
Four new deaths were reported, an Elgin man in his 50s, an Oxford man in his 60s, a male Secord Trails resident in his 70s and a female Oxford resident in her 80s. The death toll is 126 since the pandemic began.
The percent positivity rate in the region has slipped to 19.5%.
There are 23 new cases in St. Thomas, six in Aylmer and West Elgin, four in Central Elgin and one in Southwold and Bayham.
There are 1,312 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 408 in Woodstock, 354 in St. Thomas, 131 in Ingersoll, 70 in Aylmer, 68 in Tillsonburg, 56 in Central Elgin, 37 in Zorra, 30 in Norwich, 29 in West Elgin, 26 in East Zorra-Tavistock, 23 in Dutton/Dunwich, 22 in Blandford-Blenheim and 22 in SW Oxford, 16 in Bayham, 11 in Southwold and nine in Malahide.
There are 17 resident cases and 12 staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, 15 resident and 20 staff cases at Valleyview, four resident and two staff case at Elgin Manor, seven residents and seven staff at Extendicare in Port Stanley, three patient and three staff cases at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and three resident and six staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 24 hospitalizations at this time, with eight in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 34.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Eight hundred and forty-five cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 214 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 7,282.
A total of 157,854 residents in the region have had two doses of a vaccine or 72.1 per cent.
There are 599.3 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 838.2 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 830.8 cases per 100,000 population and 843.6 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
