The province this morning is reporting at least 8,521 new COVID-19 cases with 23 deaths.
A total of 3,887 individuals across the province are hospitalized with 578 in ICU and 343 on ventilators.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting at least 268 new cases since Friday with 421 resolved.
The death toll is 128 since the pandemic began.
The percent positivity rate in the region has slipped to 19.5%.
There are 85 new cases in St. Thomas, nine in Aylmer and Central Elgin, six in West Elgin, four in Bayham and Southwold, two in Malahide and one in Dutton/Dunwich.
There are 974 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 290 in Woodstock, 266 in St. Thomas, 87 in Ingersoll, 60 in Aylmer, 56 in Tillsonburg, 44 in Central Elgin, 27 in Norwich, 26 in West Elgin, 25 in Zorra, 22 in East Zorra-Tavistock, 18 in Dutton/Dunwich, 15 in Bayham and SW Oxford, 11 in Blandford-Blenheim, seven in Southwold and four in Malahide.
There are 37 resident cases and 24 staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, 16 resident and 25 staff cases at Valleyview, four resident and three staff case at Elgin Manor, nine residents and 11 staff at Extendicare in Port Stanley, four patient and three staff cases at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, 13 resident and four staff cases at Terrace Lodge, 12 resident and four staff cases at Metcalfe Gardens and five resident and seven staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 26 hospitalizations at this time, with four in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 33.3 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
Six hundred and nine cases are individuals under the age of 50, with 124 of those under the age of 20.
The number of resolved cases is 8,106.
A total of 158,163 residents in the region have had two doses of a vaccine or 72.3 per cent.
There are 444.9 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 613.4 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 624.3 cases per 100,000 population and 723.1 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
