The province this morning is reporting at least 5,744 new COVID-19 cases with 60 deaths.
A total of 4,132 individuals across the province are hospitalized with 589 in ICU and 341 are on ventilators.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting at least 86 new cases with 119 resolved.
The death toll is 129 since the pandemic began.
The percent positivity rate in the region has slipped to 16.5%.
There are 28 new cases in St. Thomas, 10 in Aylmer, four in Dutton-Dunwich, two in Central Elgin and one each in Bayham, Malahide and Southwold.
There are 880 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 270 in Woodstock, 242 in St. Thomas, 63 in Ingersoll, 57 in Aylmer, 53 in Tillsonburg, 35 in Central Elgin, 28 in Norwich, 24 in Zorra, 23 in West Elgin and East Zorra-Tavistock, 18 in Dutton-Dunwich, 14 in SW Oxford, 9 in Bayham, 8 in Blandford-Blenheim, seven in Southwold and five in Malahide.
There are 39 resident cases and 28 staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, 17 resident and 31 staff cases at Valleyview, four resident and four staff case at Elgin Manor, nine residents and 12 staff at Extendicare in Port Stanley, five patient and three staff cases at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, 17 resident and six staff cases at Terrace Lodge, 13 residents and four staff case at Metcalfe Gardens and five resident and eight staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 48 hospitalizations at this time, with eight in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 32.4 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 8,377.
A total of 158,619 residents in the region have had two doses of a vaccine or 72.5 per cent.
There are 402.0 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 537.8 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 568.0 cases per 100,000 population and 686.9 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
