The province this morning is reporting at least 4,790 new COVID-19 cases with 37 deaths.
A total of 3,861 individuals across the province are hospitalized with 615 in ICU.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting at least 249 new cases since Friday with 301 resolved.
There were two deaths reported, an Elgin man in his 60s and an Oxford man in his 80s. The death toll is now 132 since the pandemic began.
The percent positivity rate in the region has slipped to 16.5%.
There are 15 new cases in St. Thomas, nine in Aylmer, six in Dutton-Dunwich and Central Elgin, three in Bayham, two in Malahide and one each in West Elgin and Southwold.
There are 803 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 248 in Woodstock, 235 in St. Thomas, 61 in Tillsonburg, 48 in Ingersoll, 44 in Aylmer, 26 in Zorra, 25 in Norwich, 17 in Central Elgin and East Zorra-Tavistock, 16 in Dutton-Dunwich, 14 in Bayham and West Elgin, 13 in SW Oxford and Blandford-Blenheim, seven in Southwold and five in Malahide.
There are 46 resident cases and 34 staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, 17 resident and 33 staff cases at Valleyview, nine residents and 12 staff at Extendicare in Port Stanley, 18 resident and five staff cases at Terrace Lodge, 23 residents and six staff cases at Metcalfe Gardens and 12 resident and four staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 51 hospitalizations at this time, with 10 in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 31.8 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 8,844.
A total of 79,051 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 49.7 per cent.
There are 366.8 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 494.3 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 551.5 cases per 100,000 population and 530.2 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
