The Freedom Convoy passed through the region along the 401 Thursday enroute to a rally tomorrow in Ottawa.
Elgin-Middlesex-London MP Karen Vecchio says the convoy has taken on a life of its own.
She anticipates supply chain problems throughout the winter if the vaccine mandate is not reversed.
Vecchio says Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole and other party members will meet with truckers at that time.
Vecchio stresses the truckers in the Freedom Convoy just want to work but they are not being allowed.
She adds, however, even if the vaccine mandates are removed for truckers, there still are restrictions for those drivers crossing the border into the U.S.
Ottawa’s Parliamentary Protective Service is expecting 10-thousand protesters this weekend to push back against COVID-19 lockdowns and vaccination mandates.
