The province this morning is reporting at least 5,337 new COVID-19 cases with 68 deaths.
A total of 3,535 individuals across the province are hospitalized with 607 in ICU and 387 on ventilators.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting at least 74 new cases with 83 resolved.
There was one new death, an Oxford man in his 90s linked to an outbreak. The death toll is 138 since the pandemic began. Twenty-five deaths this month alone.
The percent positivity rate in the region has risen to 17.7%.
There are 25 new cases in St. Thomas, 10 in Aylmer, four in Central Elgin, Malahide and Dutton-Dunwich and two in West Elgin.
There are 721 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 204 in Woodstock, 194 in St. Thomas, 72 in Tillsonburg, 45 in Aylmer, 35 in Ingersoll, 25 in Norwich, 23 in West Elgin and Zorra, 22 in Central Elgin and Dutton-Dunwich, 13 in Blandford-Blenheim, 12 in SW Oxford, 11 in East Zorra-Tavistock, 10 in Bayham, eight in Malahide and two in Southwold.
There are 48 resident cases and 35 staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, 17 resident and 33 staff cases at Valleyview, 18 resident and five staff cases at Terrace Lodge, 26 residents and seven staff cases at Metcalfe Gardens, 14 resident and 13 staff cases at Elgin Manor and seven resident and nine staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 25 hospitalizations at this time, with eight in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 31.7 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 9,194.
A total of 85,522 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 53.3 per cent.
There are 329.4 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 404.2 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 455.3 cases per 100,000 population and 542.3 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
