Those who may have been holding off on receiving their booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine due to brand preference, will appreciate the recent announcement by Southwestern Public Health.
Due to a more stable supply of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, SWPH clinics will once again offer the shot to those who have a brand preference.
Previously, adults aged 30+ in the SWPH region were more often than not receiving the Moderna vaccine, as Pfizer was to be prioritized for those under 29 as well as the pediatric dose.
While SWPH still strongly advocates for the effectiveness of both mRNA vaccines and their interchangeability to protect against severe illness from a COVID-19 infection, the option is now available for those who have a brand preference.
