The province this morning is reporting at least 3,960 new COVID-19 cases with 55 deaths.
A total of 2,983 individuals across the province are hospitalized with 583 in ICU and 387 on ventilators.
Southwestern Public Health is reporting at least 188 new cases since Friday with 231 resolved.
There was one new death, an Oxford man in his 60s not linked to an outbreak. The death toll is 139 since the pandemic began. Twenty-six deaths this month alone.
The percent positivity rate in the region has risen to 17.7%.
There are 676 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 196 in Woodstock, 179 in St. Thomas, 63 in Tillsonburg, 45 in Aylmer, 32 in Ingersoll, 28 in Norwich, 22 in Zorra, 21 in Central Elgin. 19 in Dutton-Dunwich and West Elgin, 15 in Blandford-Blenheim, 11 in SW Oxford, seven in Bayham, Malahide and East Zorra-Tavistock and five in Southwold.
There are 30 resident cases and 25 staff cases at Caressant Care Bonnie Place in St. Thomas, 17 resident and 34 staff cases at Valleyview, 26 residents and eight staff cases at Metcalfe Gardens, 14 resident and 14 staff cases at Elgin Manor and seven resident and 14 staff at Chartwell in Aylmer.
There are 28 hospitalizations at this time, with eight in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 31.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 9,425.
A total of 85,522 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 53.3 per cent.
There are 308.8 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 399.7 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 420.1 cases per 100,000 population and 542.3 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
