The Aylmer Police and Elgin OPP were bracing for a “Freedom Convoy” style event that rolled through the Town of Aylmer Thursday afternoon.
While as many as 300 tractor trailers and units of farm equipment were expected, Aylmer Police advise the number was closer to 120, with few big rigs involved.
While the event wasn’t as large and drawn out as they were expecting, a number of residents did step out of their homes to show support.
We spoke with a couple individuals who shared their opinion.
Police note that no issues with traffic or community safety were observed during the convoy.
