It was a good start, but not a good ending for the Stars in Chatham.
St. Thomas scored first and also held a 4-3 lead heading into the final frame but couldn’t hang on for the win.
The Maroons were able to find the back of the net twice in the third period to lock up a 5-4 win.
Jackson Philips led the Stars offense with two goals and an assist, while Oliver Bonk and Nick Houben each had a pair of helpers.
St. Thomas will return home to place LaSalle on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
