Southwestern Public Health reported Wednesday at least 107 new COVID-19 cases since Friday with 205 resolved.
There were three deaths reported, all residents of Oxford County: a female in her 50s, a male in his 60s and a male in his 80s. The death toll is 148 since the pandemic began.
There were 32 new cases in St. Thomas, six in West Elgin, five in Aylmer and Dutton-Dunwich, three in Bayham and Central Elgin and one in Southwold.
The percent positivity rate in the region is 13.5 %.
There are 227 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 60 in St. Thomas, 55 in Woodstock, 13 in Aylmer, Dutton-Dunwich and Ingersoll, 12 in Norwich and Tillsonburg, 11 in Central Elgin, nine in East Zorra-Tavistock, six in Bayham, West Elgin and Blandford-Blenheim, five in Zorra, four in SW Oxford and one in Southwold and Malahide.
There are no cases in long-term care or retirement facilities in St. Thomas and Elgin county.
There are 11 hospitalizations at this time, with four in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 30.2 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 10,696.
A total of 96,027 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 57.9 per cent.
There are 103.7 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 176.8 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 140.8 cases per 100,000 population and 156.7 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
