As Russian forces continue their deadly assault on Ukraine, efforts are underway in St. Thomas to raise funds and support Ukrainians.
Petrusia Hontar, project manager at St. Thomas-Elgin Local Immigration Partnership, advises a fundraiser is scheduled for March 22 at the CASO station in St. Thomas.
Hontar is working hand in hand with the London Ukrainian Centre on fundraising efforts across the region.
She those who attend March for Ukraine will have an opportunity to learn more about the country and its people.
She stresses her goal is to support businesses that also want to do something on their own.
Hontar adds, “many hands make light work.”
Arrangements are now being made to accommodate donations.
The fundraiser will run from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. and is in partnership with St. Thomas and Elgin Home Builders’ Association.
