A fire Thursday night on Chestnut Street resulted in no injuries, thanks to the quick actions of the homeowners.
The St. Thomas Fire Department received the call around 11 p.m., after the homeowners discovered a fire in their car port attached to their residence.
Crews responded, and a callback of off duty firefighters was initiated when the blaze quickly spread to the home.
The STFD will continue the cause of fire investigation today, with preliminary damage estimates around $400,000.
