It was a hard fought match, but it just wasn’t meant to be for Team Canada in the men’s para ice hockey gold medal game last night.
Following an 11-0 pounding of South Korea in the semi’s, the Canadians were blanked 5-0 by the United States and settled for silver on the final day of the Beijing Paralympics.
Wallacetown’s James Dunn and the rest of the Canadians were hoping for redemption, following a 2-1 overtime defeat against the USA in PyoengChang back in 2018.
Despite the outcome, Dunn noted how much he appreciates the support from family and friends back home.
The silver medal for the men’s para ice hockey team marks the 25th and final medal for Canada at the 2022 Beijing Paralympics games.
