Southwestern Public Health reported at least 43 new COVID-19 cases since Wednesday with 22 resolved.
There have been two new deaths, an Elgin man in his 70s and an Elgin woman in her 80s, neither death related to an outbreak. The death total is now 151 since the pandemic began.
There are nine new cases in St. Thomas, three in Central Elgin and one each in Aylmer and West Elgin.
The percent positivity rate in the region has dropped to 10.4 %.
There are 231 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 63 in St. Thomas, 54 in Woodstock, 27 in Ingersoll, 17 in Tillsonburg, 15 in Aylmer, 11 in Central Elgin, nine in Zorra, seven in Bayham, six in Blandford-Blenheim, Norwich and East Zorra-Tavistock, four in SW Oxford, three in Dutton-Dunwich, two in Malahide and one in West Elgin.
There are eight resident cases and three staff case at Chartwell Oxford Gardens in Woodstock.
There are eight hospitalizations at this time, with three in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 30.9 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 11,077.
A total of 97,626 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 58.6 per cent.
There are 105.5 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 120.4 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region.
The crude rate for St. Thomas is 147.9 cases per 100,000 population and 180.8 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
