In their COVID-19 update from Wednesday, Southwestern Public Health reported at least 34 new cases since Monday with 43 resolved.
There was one new death, an Oxford man in his 90s, not related to an outbreak. The death total is now 153 since the pandemic began.
There are five new cases in St. Thomas, three in Central Elgin, two in West Elgin and one in Aylmer and Dutton-Dunwich.
The percent positivity rate in the region has dropped to 10.4 %.
There are 210 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 49 in St. Thomas and Woodstock, 26 in Ingersoll, 13 in Tillsonburg, 11 in Aylmer, 10 in Zorra, nine in Central Elgin and Norwich, six in West Elgin, East Zorra-Tavistock and SW Oxford, five in Bayham, four in Dutton-Dunwich and Blandford-Blenheim, two in Malahide and one in Southwold.
There are 10 resident cases and three staff case at Chartwell Oxford Gardens in Woodstock.
There are four hospitalizations at this time, with one in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 31.2 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 11,190.
A total of 97,976 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 58.8 per cent.
There are 95.9 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 126.1 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 115.0 cases per 100,000 population and 132.6 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
