With the youth summer sports season quickly approaching, a number of local leagues have reached out to remind residents about registrations deadlines.
Those hoping to register for baseball or softball have a few options across St. Thomas and Elgin County.
St. Thomas Minor Baseball is currently offering house league for players age 4 to 18. While registration won’t officially close until all divisions have been filled, the date of April 3rd has been set as the tentative deadline.
St. Thomas Optimist Softball has leagues available for players age 3 to 17, with a registration deadline of March 26th.
South Elgin Minor Ball is also holding registration for the 2022 season. The league, which covers teams from Port Stanley, Talbotville, and Union, is open to those age 4 to 10, with a fee increase set for registration after May 1st.
In addition, the Dunwich Dutton Softball Association has registration available for both their Timbit league and travel team.
Youth Soccer is available in St. Thomas, Sheddan and West Elgin this summer.
The St. Thomas Soccer Club is offering registration for the 2022 Outdoor Youth Recreational league. Teams are available for youth between 3 and 18 years of age, with a late fee for registration coming into effect as of April 1st.
Shedden Soccer will also be offering leagues for youth between 3 and 18 years of age, however a registration deadline has not been announced at this time.
West Elgin Soccer is available for youth age 3 to 14. The official deadline for registration has passed in West Elgin, resulting in a $25 late fee for all outstanding sign ups.
