In her final media briefing before retiring as the region’s medical officer of health, Dr. Joyce Lock on Wednesday pointed to the vaccination rate as a critical factor in the declining number of serious COVID-19 cases.
There are only three institutional outbreaks in the Southwestern Public Health region and hospitalizations and ICU admissions continue to drop.
Dr. Lock stressed it is not too late to get vaccinated, whether it’s your first, second or booster shot.
However, effective April 1, the St. Thomas vaccination clinic will return to the Southwestern Public Health office at 1230 Talbot Street.
The Memorial Arena location is no longer required at this time and the clinic will operate on a walk-in only basis Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. until noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
