A winter weather travel advisory is now in effect for St. Thomas and Elgin County.
Hazards include snow, heavy at times, with additional accumulations of 5 to 10 cm through this afternoon.
Northwesterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h, causing reduced visibility at times in blowing snow.
Lake effect snow will continue to affect the area and may intensify this morning for a few hours before gradually weakening throughout the afternoon.
You are reminded to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
Stay tuned to myFM for any updates.
