The YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin is preparing for their annual Get Gorgeous for Grad program!
With graduation events put on hold the past two years, donations for the program which supports grade 8 and high school grads are needed.
Holly Blair, Housing Stability Coordinator with the YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin explains what they’re looking for.
Blair says that at this time, they are very much focused on securing some plus sized dresses and smaller suits for the younger men.
She notes that they are also accepting accessory donations, including shoes, jewelry, purses and hair products. Cash donations and gift cards are also welcome.
The hope adds Blair, is that this program will take a little bit of stress away from the process of graduating.
The YWCA does ask that donations be new or gently used, no more than 5 years old and in good condition.
Those wishing to support the Get Gorgeous for Grad program can drop off donations at the YWCA St. Thomas-Elgin Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 p.m to 5 p.m.
